Under the section "Menus", there is a section for 'diabetic'... If you learn about sugar substitutions, many recipes can be converted for diabetics (also, check the Splenda website... I often use Splenda cup-for-cup or Blended Splenda... I cut down the sugar in many recipes anyway.) ---> http://allrecipes.com/menus/16294/diabetic/viewall.aspx?p34=Menu%20Category%3a16294

Sugar Free Blueberry Coffee Cake

A fabulous blueberry coffee cake with a crumb topping. This recipe is one from a local B&B that I replaced all the sugar with substitutes because I have diabetes. I have received all praise and 'I can't believe it is sugar free.' The sugar can be put back in if you want. Either way it is wonderful.

Also, but the word DIABETIC in the Search Box (above) and you will have a few links... I "change the view" to 'list' (verses the 'grid')... Hope this helps (my DH is a Type II Diabetic... Did you know cinnamon is good for diabetics? He enjoys his Wheat Toast with Smart Balance, a sprinkle of Splenda, and sprinkled cinnamon on it... We also only buy 'unsweetened' applesauce... I hope others post their 'tips' here also!

In a nutshell, you need to watch your carbs. Your body converts carbs into excess sugar which diabetics have difficulty processing. You also need to try to eat food that breaks down slowly in your body to avoid *spikes* in your blood sugar. I'd do recipe searches for items that use: beans, oatmeal, fish, vegetables (non starchy ones - corn, potatoes and the like are not good), and eggs.
