I am fixing Salmon patties for supper, what sides would you have with them..grits is a given where I am from.

I would do an avocado tomato and red onion salad with a nice vinegrette and maybe some rice or bread as well.

Starting with prepared coleslaw mix this recipe for a creamy coleslaw delivers a bit of tang through the use of vinegar, making it a perfect accompaniment for fried chicken, burgers, or fried fish.

i like adding dry ramen noodles and cutting back the sugar. cheese grits is a given, i agree.

Hi cliff, my version for ideas for you, cheers. Don’s Spanish Salmon Burgers 450g/1lb fresh Salmon - skin and bones removed - roughly chopped 100gr Smoked Salmon - roughly chopped ½ Onion - finely chopped 1 Egg Yoke - lightly beaten 1tbsp Dill - finely chopped Touch of lemon Juice - to taste Quantity Potatoes - cooked, drained, dried & mashed with a little milk Plain Flour Sunflower Oil Salt & freshly ground Black Pepper Combine and blend the fresh Salmon with Smoked Salmon; Mix in onion, dill, lemon juice, egg yolk and seasoning; Add potatoes to thicken mixture sufficiently to roll into balls; Roll balls in flour and flatten into burger shapes; Heat oil in large frying pan, add burgers and cook on medium heat, turning to ensure brown on both sides, until fish just cooked through.

Hi, normally, I serve with fries and a simple salad - lettuce - rocket -- cherry toms,chopped - cucumber - red onion. OR something different. cheers, Cauliflower Purée 1 Cauliflower - with leaves removed and cut into sprigs 100ml/3½fl oz hot Chicken Stock 1tbsp Wholegrain Mustard 250ml/8fl oz Crème Fraiche (or Double Cream) 15g/½oz Butter Salt and freshly ground Black pepper In a large pan, cook the cauliflower in boiling water until tender; Drain and return to pan with some stock; “Blitz” with blender until smooth, adding stock as necessary for desired consistency; Add the mustard, creme fraiche and seasoning to taste, stirring continuously, to combine well

Leek with Cheese Sauce 2 Leeks - sliced 300ml/10fl oz Whole Milk 60g/2oz Butter 45g/1½oz Plain Flour 120g/4oz Cheddar Cheese - grated ¾tsp Mustard - English or Dijon Pinch ground Nutmeg Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper Preparation method Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6. Cook the sliced leek in a pan of boiling salted water for some 4 to 6 minutes or so, or until tender; Drain and set aside; For the sauce: Melt butter in a small pan on low heat; Stir in the flour and cook, stirring continuously, for a minute or so to form a smooth paste; Blend in the milk and, stirring continuously, bring to almost boiling point; Reduce heat to low and continue stirring until thickened - no lumps; Add cheese and stir continuously until melted; Season and add mustard to taste; Pour the sauce over the leeks and serve.

I always serve it with fried taters and a green vegetable of some kind. And of course...biscuits, cause we eat them in the biscuit with jam :) Blackberry for me!

That's the way we ate them growing up. Mom and Dad are both from the south...TN and Alabama.

In the summer, use fresh sweet corn off the cob. Saute the corn for 5 minutes in a skillet before adding it to the salad.

I know a man who does not like fish, when his wife was cooking salmon and asked him what he wanted for a side..his answer..Pizza!!
