Hi, Yes I did, and probably you have a serious purpose but, no offence meant but sorry, my sense of humour, couldn't resist. Where I worked, black humour was a premium. cheers.

Yes, I know gallows humor well. But my long having a brain injury (TBI) and "what almost happened to me" and doing so much work in that community - in particular, the personal stories I've been told - give me a different perspective. No offense taken, it just drives me crazy how many stereotypes I continue to face because "you don't look like there's anything wrong with you."

Thanks. And for what it's worth: I think I've made a huge step forward these last few years when I've just accepted (and try to be mindful of yet not dwell on) that people who've not known me from "before" don't know what I'd already accomplished and what was MY norm, and most likely weren't considering that my norm had changed (in a sense died because I was "different") in a split second. I've had a bizarre existence for the longest time because I'd soon gone back into the world, not knowing how much my thought-wiring (in other words, dealing with life) was screwed up. I just went ahead and did things as if nothing had changed because I didn't know any better and no one was intervening. Classic setting-yourself-up-for-failure. I was fortunate to be able to eventually relearn a lot (intentionally or not), but it's now this weird balance of playing catch-up w/ what I didn't learn/experience for so long, accepting what I can never put into the last 30 years, and knowing I can continue to learn and relearn, yet getting more into middle-age (good and bad) is also going on. A big reason I like the support here is that I can ask for help and not get ridiculed for not already knowing something. (It's easy for me to laugh off my computer ignorance as generation-related, but computers, while important, are a tiny part of what life's ultimately all about.)
