Quick cook beans? I have asked about this before but I can not find the info. The web sites all say to boil then cook in the oven but I know there is another way. How can I quick cook beans? When should I add the spices? Thanks.

Boiling & microwaving works for me! But, make sure the Beans are almost finished BEFORE you put them into the microwave.

I don't know of a way to cook dried beans quickly, like less than a couple hours. Put them in a heavy pot with lid, cover with water by about an inch, add your seasonings and simmer on the stovetop until done or bake in a 325 degree oven for a couple hours, checking after 90 minutes or so. If there's a faster way I sure don't know about it unless you had a pressure cooker.

I know if you have a pressure cooker you can. I usually put my beans on high with tons of water in it and cover it let it boil really well stirring alot.

Boil the beans for 2 minutes in plenty of water. Turn off the heat, let sit for an hour. Turn the heat back on, and cook til done (tender), covered with water. The kind of beans will make a difference in how long they must be cooked. When fully cooked, add other ingredients. If you add other ingredients before fully cooked, it may stop the beans from softening!
