checked out the red velvet cookies recipe by KC and loved the way Footballgrl16 made them into hearts - would you know how this can be done? I tried to but they spread and didn't look like hearts much after they were done :(

I'm thinking a heart-shaped cookie cutter.

they don't look like they were cut out after, they look like they were baked in the heart shape? I will try the cutout next time - this will definitely work

I see what you mean. And the recipe doesn't lend to the idea of flattening out the cookies first. But because the hearts are so perfectly made, I still say cookie cutter. If the dough isn't too sticky I'd say press and cut. Good luck to you. :)

If not a cookie cutter, maybe a pan with heart-shaped openings? There are some that are very shallow. Or maybe a silicone heart-shaped pan. If you have a heart-shaped cutter smaller than your cookies, go for it now!

The red velvet heart cookie on my cupcake was formed by placing two cookie balls side by side and flattened just a little.

The recipe I used was Dawns red velvet cookies.
