I accidentally got a can of garbonzo beans today instead of northern beans. What would you do with them?

This looks interesting - have you made this?

I've made it. I actually have a hard time not eating all of it when I make it. There's a very similar recipe on here I've made also. They are both very good. I can't tell you which I like best.

Traditional Hummus

Hummus--a traditional Middle Eastern dish--is a thick and creamy blend of garbanzo beans, garlic, olive oil, and tahini. Serve with pita bread or vegetables.

I just recently found out that I like Hummus (this past summer). Love to eat it with garden veg crackers, pretzels, Melba toast, etc.

I like hummus. I don't have tahini, but I do have one lone roasted red pepper and the rest of the juice in the bottle. Do you think that would work with it?

I haven't made any as of yet but the consensus seems to be peanut butter, almond butter or cashew butter (with a splash of sesame oil?) will work just fine.

Hummus III

As a spread, dip or garlicky pita filling, classic hummus is both delicious and satisfying. Best of all, it's whipped up in seconds in a blender or food processor.

My grandson always wants this when they come to the farm. I roast a whole bulb of garlic and use the whole thing in this.

Brown some turkey sausage, cook with stewed tomatoes and combine with sautéed spinach and garbanzo beans... This has a great flavor and makes a good side! Or you can make hummus!

I came across this recipe, and thought I'd give it a try. I'll have to cook up some dried garbanzo beans first, though!

Use the garbonzo beans in place of chick peas or just add them to this recipe for chili below ->
