Which beater on the kitchenaid mixer do I use for this frosting?

Use the beater attachment. Beat the butter and shortening together for a few minutes than add the other ingredients.

I am soooo jealous. A Kitchenaid Mixer is #1 on my wish list. A red one. A little too pricey for me right now though. But I'll get it some day. :)

If a recipe says beat, you can generally use the paddle attachment. If it says whip, then use the whisk attachment.

Patticakes-I have the red one :D My husband got it for me last year as a gift. SELUNE-It just says "Blend well." Which makes it sound like I need to use my blender not my mixer. :lol:

Generally, you only use the dough hook for yeast breads. The wire whip is usually used for whipping egg white or heavy cream. Most other applications use the paddle attachment. Well written recipes will indicate which to use when it is not obvious.
