I am with Marie. I don't use shortening at all. Butter will be great.

Yes, use the same amount. I don't ever cook or eat anything made with shortening. Butter is an excellent substitution.

Coconut oil is a great sub for shortening, too. And its flavor would be perfect in this recipe if you use the extra virgin.

Butter would be fine. The recipe already has vegetable oil in it, so to use any other type of liquid could cause issues since the ratio of liquids to flour would be off.
