A couple of weeks ago, I asked for suggestions of what to serve as an entree for a progressive dinner where I would be arriving home just as the other guests came. Thanks for the many suggestions and I have decided to make beef Stroganoff because it can easily be reheated- or held on warm, in the crock pot. I'll just stir in sour cream when I get home. OK- here's the next question, I want to serve it with wide egg noodles. How can I prep those in advance? And with all the advance planning- I thank you in advance!

It's only going to take you about you 20 minutes to do the noodles. I don't see the need to do them in advance.

I have seen a number of people mention they cook them in advance, store in refrigerator and then run hot water over them before serving. Have not done this myself, have you got 10-15 minutes to cook the noodles?? Maybe have drinks (punch, wine, sangria ready and an appy/side (salad or soup), while they wait??)

I agree, cook them fresh, not in advance. Maybe try to find some fresh noodles - - they cook faster than dried pasta. Enjoy the party!
