I can't decide whether I want to make Asian food or southern food for dinner tonight. Which would you choose? Asian consists of sesame chicken with fried rice and southern is pinto beans and corn bread. Or what would you add to those meals? I'm so indecisive today!! Thanks so much for any help!

I'm doing southern (of course down here we don't call it southern, we just call it cooking lol). Chicken & gravy with mashed potatos, mac & cheese, green beans, corn on the cob.... & probably a bread.

That sounds so good, yea where I live it isn't considered southern food either. Maybe comfort food would be a better name? Lol

Southern--Harkening back to my childhood, with pinto beans and sweet cornbread, I would serve fried potatoes and spinach. Maybe make the cornbread into some kind of cornbread pancakes. Garnish the beans with chow chow or sweet pickle relish. Maybe a green onion or two on the side. Two hours later, top it all off with chocolate cake with boiled chocolate frosting. It is a total carb fest.

Enjoy delicious citrus chicken marinated in lemon and orange juice with brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. It's terrific served with rice.

Lots of garlic butter and Parmesan guarantee intense flavor in this baked chicken.

the parmtaste will work well with the beans, slice some maters and cukes, onions drizzle with balzamic vinegar and pepper. SOUTHERN!

My Alabama-born mom (now 87 and still living alone) swears that "beans and rice together make a complete protein." Add some beans to your southern style meal, and enjoy the nutrition, IMHO!

Dry pinto beans simmer for hours with flavorings like bacon, kielbasa sausage, and tomato to make a big pot of goodness. Serve over hot cooked brown rice, and top with cheese and green onion.

give me beans and cornbread any day of the week and I'm a happy camper. I grew up on beans and cornbread, with fried potatoes and cole slaw.
