I am so nuts about meat. I'm not a big meat fan...I am extremely paranoid about meat going bad (I guess bad childhood experiences). I have been cooking for over 10 years and I have done something today that I have never done. Please tell me that I am neurotic and paranoid... I bought ground beef 3 days ago, put it in the fridge, today is the "sell by" date...it's ok right?? I always cook my meat the DAY I bring it home, but we got the flu and dinner plans were crushed... Tell me I'm crazy, it will make my night... Jess

Meat is good after the "sell by" date so don't worry about using it.

3 days later may seem kind of long, but if it smells okay, and looks okay, then I would use it. I'd be a little wary of it though if it's lost most of it's pinkness.

Hi All - I'm 17 days into a new vegan diet and I am seeking any and all yummy vegan recipes! I am open to trying just about anything just as long as the ingredients do not include anything that comes from an animal!

I just wanted to say hi back and to say that you should re-post this in the "Request A Recipe" section. That way more people will be able to see it and give you suggestions. And good luck with the new diet.

you should be fine. Remember that is a sell by date. It is not a bad for yoe by date. Grocers dont want to sell food to you that may make you sick so they always build a couple extra days into that sell by date
