My dear Grandmother would make us grandchildren something we called "Salmon on Toast" I've asked my Aunts if they had their mothers recipe however to no advail was it to be found. Grandma used a large can of salmon, carnation evaporated milk (I think or cream of mushroom soup). I had canned peas in it and it was served on buttered toast. I miss the taste and would really, really love to make it. It is an old recipe, my grandmother is of European decent. Thank you ahead of time.

A quick and easy snack or lite dinner of creamed salmon and peas. Goes great over buttered toast.

Hi, agree with nanny, a good base. Doubt if would have been the milk. Too sweet. probably some soup, thickened with the pea/salmoln mixture. I don't like canned soup so have made a version using sour cream. worked not bad. hope helps. keep mixture firm and not runny.
