I am a relatively new baker and got a 6-cup bundt pan for Christmas. I have looked at a number of recipes here and some say 6 inch, 10 cup or 10 inch. Could someone please explain the difference?

Here is the reference chart to All baking pan sizes and cups-- It's an awesome chart > scroll down to see Bundt pan sizes/cups, it's where I copied and pasted that from. Hope it helps :)

Based on this CHART since yours is a 6 cup it's a 7½ x 3 inch Bundt Pan.

Cups measurement is the volume the pan will hold. The inch measurement is the diameter of the pan.

A six-cup would hold half of one of the old 18.5-oz cake mixes. I have that size bundt pan as well as a twelve-cup. The six-cup great for just the two of us with two guests...not a lot left over. I sometimes wish I had two so I could bake two cakes at the same time and freeze one, but I know I'd just eat that frozen one sooner or later (laugh). Any recipe that makes a one-layer 8x8 or 9x9 should be close, or if you make half of an older cake recipe for a standard 9x13 pan, it should work, too. Just make sure you measure anything you aren't sure about, or you'll have a mess in the oven.
