Had a nightmare in the kitchen last night! Made chicken fried steak and all of the breading came off while cooking. I havent made it in a long time but I've made it 100s of times before. The gravy was okay but not great. I made potatoes au grautin and it was awful. The cheese sauce just wasnt good. Then I burnt the asparagus bc I forgot to put on the timer. At least the french garlic bread I made was good. Hubs ate his chicken fried steak as a sandwich and I mostly ate bread. I hate those kind of nights!

Jess, sounds like quite a nite. At least the bread was good. I love bread with lots of butter on it. I am sure tomorrow will get better for you.

I feel your pain. Tried to make pretzels today before reading the reviews. Way too much flour in the recipe and the dough wouldnt even hold together. What a bomb

I just hate that. We ordered pizza tonight. My hubs got a flat tire at work so I had to go spend the evening in his office waiting for him to change the tire. There was no way I was going to cook again tonight!

A magnificent prime rib roast is surprisingly easy to make. Rub the meat with seasonings, roast in the oven, and serve a great special-occasion meal.

OMGOSH Jess!! I over cooked the roast beast @ Christmas, as in last month!! It temped at 140 and meant to get back to it, we like it a bit more cooked. Meant to get back to it sooner but checked it after the potatoes were done and yep, 170!! Good Lord, was I P!ssed! !

Agreed . I hate when I mess up dinner. Especially when I add up the cost of the food. Then Hubby tries to cover and compliment it. I dropped 5 pounds of flour all over linoleum floor the other morning so put nearly everything else away. We ordered pizza that night. I decided to not even try.

Patty Cakes I would have been in tears! I was doing a test run on the potatoes for my husband's Texan Taking on Thirty themed BBQ party this weekend and Im glad a did the test run. I would have been so upset the day of. I am just going to do cubed red potatoes, garlic, onion butter. I know that will come out good! And less ingredients to buy!

Bigcountry my husband does the same. I mean at least he ate some of it so it wasnt a complete waste. He make chicken fried steak sandwiches.
