I made this recipe in the slow cooker today using 3 habeneros. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/slow-cooker-teriyaki-pork-tenderloin/detail.aspx I've made it a bunch of times before with 6. The person I made it for is a wimp in the spicy food department, and even with the reduction I think he might not be able to handle it. I added another 1/2 cup of brown sugar to sweeten it up. Any other suggestions to tone down the heat? Sour cream maybe? TIA!!!!

Any dairy product will tone down the heat.

I'm not sure what you could add to this to lessen the heat. I would suggest that you serve it with a rice that is not spiced. Eating a mouthful of rice after a mouthful of something overly spiced can reduce the heat. It works a whole lot better than trying to drink something anyway.

Add sugar and either lemon juice or any kind of acid.

I would make more of the sauce with more teriyaki, broth, and brown sugar, and like stiritup suggests, serve it over rice. There are times when anything dairy is just unthinkable and this recipe is one of those times. No sour cream!
