While you may already know this, here is a link showing what they say to be the top 10 foods highest in fiber . . . http://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/foods-high-in-dietary-fiber.php . . . I’m sure there are other equally good lists which may order things differently but the important point is to appreciate how many different ways there are to increase fiber based on your preferred tastes. Also good to know is to increase water intake when significantly increasing fiber. For me, the easiest way to significantly increase fiber and nutrition is through smoothies and beans (e.g., soup). If you have a Vitamix high speed blender (or other similar kind), you can pack it with fruits and veggies to make tasty smoothies . . . this differs from a juicer as much of the fiber is discarded in that case. A Vitamix will also make hot soups, and a way to incorporate beans which are highly nutritious as well as adding fiber. I know you have many favorite recipes so forgive me for not posting a particular recipe.

Thank you Conky Joe. I will definitely look at this site. I do drink lots of water. It just takes a day or two for food to digest. I do have a blender and I do love smoothies. I had a colonoscopy(sp) done this past Sept and everything went well. I just retain gas and now I'm taking beano before I eat. I do not eat enough veggies and fruits like I should

Eat your muesli! If you've never tried this granola-like breakfast treat, this is a great recipe. Lots of bran and oats and raisins and nuts, with just enough brown sugar to add a bit of sweetness. Serve as is with soy milk, or plop the bowl in the microwave and eat it warm.

Hey luv2cook, here is one. I like this with milk. Although, I will eat oatmeal uncooked. Anything with beans would be high in fiber, along with nuts, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Btw ~ I changed my name, but I am sure you recognize me! There are 2 other people on the site now with the name baker bee that I am tired of being confused with or asked about their recipes. So, I picked my name to go along with my kitchen gadget that I use 1-2 times a day. If you want to add fiber to your diet, that's a good way to do it too. There are lots of fruit and fruit and vegetables smoothies on the site. I also make dips and salsas with my machine. Mine has a heating function for making soups too, but you can make that on the stove top.

I will test it out for awhile. No one else has the name, so I am good for now. It fits anyway.

I too needed to eat more fiber and although I have upped my dietary fiber, I also take the gummy fiber "pills" from Costco. I take one in the morning and one in the evening. That is the best thing that I've done to improvement my system's operation. (Trying to be delicate here) They are just like eating a gummy bear.

Love this. I half it and use a 1/4 cup brown sugar instead of the Splenda and add pecans. We warm in micro 1 minute and top with some milk the rest of the week.

This is good. I use chickpeas instead of chicken most of the time.

Hi. I just heard part of a show on NPR discussing fiber. Since I was driving, I didn't get it all, except they were talking about differs kinds of fiber we need. Here's an interesting article: http://www.webmd.com/diet/fiber-health-benefits-11/insoluble-soluble-fiber
