We went to Cirque du Soleil- Quidam last night to celebrate birthdays (DD is today, mine is Sunday) If this show is ever in your area, I HIGHLY recommend it! I thought tickets were very reasonable. I was able to get a family 4 pack of tickets for $118 (buy them directly at the arena instead of a ticketing site if possible, saves alot of $$ in "inconvenience fees") The show was 2 1/2 hours, and the show was amazing. We were talking about it on the way home and all the words we used sounded so cliche, but there were no other words to use. DD is 15 and said there's no way we'll be able to top it for any other birthdays.

Not great reviews, and very mixed . . . guys kissing, female masturbating, naked ballet dancers, and fat women in bikinis *** http://s3-media3.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/LIwGu-SnJsv9z7X-xwCG2g/l.jpg *** one reviewer . . . when young, we paid a few bucks to go to a freak show, and now its expensive. Another reviewer . . . makes obese people feel sexy. We haven’t been but looks like what you see on the weekend at the beach.

Google Cirque Du Soleil and look at the reviews . . . maybe it's different depending on where it plays.

That was here just before Christmas and I'm kicking myself for not going! I'm in Iowa. My daughter and husband went and so did my MIL and her husband, raves all around and a great write up in the paper. Hope one of their shows comes back soon. ConkyJoe, have you never heard of it? Have to laugh at your reaction. Remember, different strokes for different folks. And there are many incarnations of Cirque btw.

I have been to three Cirque shows. They were all awe-inspiring and beautiful. I think the review Conky cites is for "Zumanity". That one is definitely adults-only, Vegas style entertainment.

hazelnut . . . the reviews was from Cirque Du Soleil-Zumanity. Do the performances differ by cities . . . how do you know if it is going to be real entertainment versus a freak show?

The city has nothing to do with it. As I said there are many versions of Cirque all with their own theme and story line. Stands to reason that anything playing in Vegas would be more risque. I would have loved to have seen The Beatles or Elvis one.....you can find more infor here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cirque_de_Soleil

Jena is right. I saw Cirque "O" and Cirque "Love" in Vegas. They were spectacular. I know people who saw "Zumanity" and found it moving and breathtaking. But it is not for uptight people (as evidenced by those reviews) From what I know "Zumanity" does not travel and can only be seen in Vegas. You should be safe(and AMAZED) at any of the other Cirque shows, Conky.

I've been to see Cirque 3x and love them, saw Mystere' twice and Zumanity. And both quite differnt on the story line, but both quite exquisted on the acrobatics, the movement and flow to the whole show. I can't wait to see other shows as it just captures you, reels you in and just memerizes you all the way to the end. Keri and I saw Zumanity and while it was totally for adults because its a Vegas show, the whole show was awesome. The thing about Cirque du Soleil is to blow your mind on the meer ability of the story and the acrobatics. Ohe show came close to my home town(a few hours away in Oklahoma City) and I was going to gift my parents tickets to see them, but my sister had surgery and had to travel to Mississippi instead. If anyone has an oppurnity to see a show, it's a must.
