I am thinking about the AllRecipes Pro for the menu planner. Does anyone pay for the pro and what do you think about the menu planner? I am a mom to two kids and work full time so I'm looking for ideas, a time saver and an added benefit would be to save $$ at the store!

I paid for a membership primarily for the menu planner in order to find gluten-free ideas for my DD. I've not been happy with it, and will probably not renew the membership for the menu planner. Some younger and more tech-savvy members seem to like it, so it's probably worth a try if you can get the membership cheaply for the first two years and have the extra $$ to spend. I find it easier to plan menus in my head and make a shopping list on paper; the planner takes me extra time and isn't as flexible as I'd like. The skeleton of the menu planner is for five days a week; you can add extra days/extra meals. I was looking for something to cover seven days a week, three meals a day plus planned snacks and feel that the time needed to adapt the planner isn't worth MY time. I don't use the suggested menus because I'm in a rural area and can't easily get many of the products used in recipes they recommend. But it's worth a try-it might work for you.

I absolutely love the menu planner. I have even started typing in my personal recipes so I can easily put them on the menu too. For me, it saves time. It is so simple to pull items from your recipe box and put them on the menu. I love that the grocery list is automatically generated. You just have to edit it to delete what you already have at home.

To be honest, I have barely used it. I hope to use it more this year.

I like the menu planner. It works for me! I would like to use it more this year. If you repeat menus like I do, then it is nice to save all the recipes in one place. So, I don't have to look up all the different recipes.

Paying for a memebership here basically allows you to: 1)have a blog, 2)have more print options and 3)use the menu planner feature. If those aren't of value to you, then there isn't much other reason to pay for that.
