Just noticed that the Recipe of the Day is for Tilapia. I made my feelings known on Tilapia in a blog a little over a year ago and my feelings haven't changed since. http://allrecipes.com/cook/107227/blogentry.aspx?postid=251083

I am not a fan of tilapia either. Somebody recommended me to substitute it with Red Snipper, never tried it though. I like cod and use it in the recipes that ask for tilapia and seldom change the recipe.

One look at the cesspools they call ponds where farmed fish are raised should scare anyone. Doesn't matter if it is tilapia, salmon or shrimp, if it is farmed, it will never be on my plate.

Thanks for re-posting, Doug. I think I missed this on the first go-around. In the past, I tended to choose other fish, if given the opportunity. Now that I'm aware of the potential long-term effects of genetic modification, I routinely look for other fish, and wild caught whenever possible.

Hi luv2cook - not yet - getting ready for the permanent uppers to go in and then we start all over with the lowers.

I know it's selfish on my part - and not food related (although a working mouth is necessary to eat food) - - but I would love a dental update as to what has been done up to this point and what you've eatten to get by - - is a blog in the foreseeable future?

Hi luv2cook - I'll be writing again about the teeth after the next step. Should be soon. In the mean time my eating has gotten a little more vigorous thanks to a slightly different set of dentures that are the model for the final implants. I can actually bite and tear again without the fear of having my teeth fall out on my plate. For the most part however, I have stuck to softer foods & soups though I have learned that you can crush a Christmas cookie with your tongue into the hard plastic roof of my mouth portion of my denture. And that's a good thing. Thanks for asking. Have a great day.
