I have a 4 lb pork butt to make BBQ pork sandwiches tomorrow. I cannot for the life of me find the recipe I liked. I must not have reviewed it. I didn't care for the root beer one and had a tragic incident with the kahlua pig. (thanks Janpie for the save). Where has she been? Anyway let's just say liquid smoke and I don't get along. :(. Suggestions?

Too busy to cook? A slow cooker and a can of beef broth gets you started on this recipe. 'Low and slow' cooking gives you a roast that shreds with a fork.

Coffee? Sounds odd. It's good?

I've done this and it's good. I add a bit of brown sugar and paprika rubbed on the meat as well. I won't ever mix bbq sauce with the meat. That's for serving at the table.

This the easiest recipe for tasty pork carnitas with a hint of orange flavor and plenty of garlic.

Thanks all. I have seasoned it with garlic kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder and threw on some oregano! (why? I don't know). Anyway, it is covered with Saran wrap and ready for crockpot tomorrow.

Lisa yes, coffee does work well in recipes. I put it in chili when cooking instead of adding water, it adds depth to the flavor. - I see you've already started on the recipe you'll use but though I'd share this recipe below. It's a great pork sauce recipe, you can double the sauce recipe to have extra.
