In our family on New Years Day we used to always have a traditional English meal that I cannot think of the name for it but it was always the meal for New Years Day. If I can remember the name I will post it before the New Year

Hi Manella, I just remembered the dish that we had on New Years Day every year which was Steak Pie. Since I am not a lover of red meat I do not have many meals like this one for my main course dinners. On New Years I spend my dinner time alone without having any celebrations and I usually just have something really simple to fix up and enjoy for the first meal of the New Year.

I git to gather with my church group and we play games(group, board, team...ect) and have a fun time. Each family is suppose to bring something food wise. We are doing a homemade pie and a salty snacky something this year. Any ideas? I am and have a lot of friends with dairy &/or gluten allergies.

Hi Marcie807, That sounds like a lot of fun for everyone to share their meals together with everyone in good company for a celebration. My quiche that I just made has milk in it so if you could find something to substitute the milk with my quiche might go well with others who have food allergies. the link for my quiche is You would probably have to use other flours also to sub for the all purpose and whole wheat pastry flour.

Happy New Year to you too cheerios! You keep on creating! Can't wait to try your new quiche, yum jalapenos! I might have to use chicken. DD might disown me if I don't use the last of the turkey for a pot pie.

Hi Pamela D. In this recipe I purchased the turkey breast steaks on sale for $2.83 for one small packet with about 2 slices of turkey breast to eat for one person. I always find the turkey breast hard to get down when I am eating it alone with just some vegetables and some other carbs that I have to accompany the meal. I am thinking up some more good ideas for my main course meals and some desserts also.

Marci807,you can sub.regular milk with almond or cocnut milk,or if you can find it lactose free milk.
