Hello, I am making flavored popcorn, Buffalo Chicken Popcorn. Butter, hot sauce and seasonings. I made it but the popcorn turned soggy. Is there someway to prevent this? I have made similar recipes...and the popcorn always turns soft quickly. Do you bake it afterwards?? Thanks for the help!

Cajun-Spiced Popcorn

Popcorn is roasted with butter and a blend of spices to make an addictive snack. I make this for watching movies or even sports.

Are you working from a recipe or just winging it (get it, buffalo chicken wing(ing) lol)? Anyway, maybe check proportions of what you are using against some other recipes. And I'd say baking would be necessary.

Put the popcorn (before seasonings) in a paper bag. Once inside then you should put the seasonings in the bag. Be careful to only put a little in at a time. Quickly close the bag and then shake. If you need more seasonings, repeat

I don't know if you have your heart set on BBQ sauce, but if you don't, I would suggest just using spices in butter. The BBQ sauce (and many other sauces) has a really high water content and that's why it gets soggy. I would suggest maybe paprika, mustard powder, black pepper, salt, chili powder, ground garlic to get that BBQ-spicy flavor. You could even add chili oil if you'd like; as an oil, it doesn't have water in it and won't make your popcorn mushy!
