CF is looking for: (5 recommendations)
Ok so yesterday I attempted to make a truffle recipe. The filling never did set up and is now a runny mess. I don't really want to waste it. It is pretty much a cup of milk and a cup of chocolate chips with spices. Do you think if I added flour baking powder salt and an egg it may save it?

Add it to a cake, quick bread or muffin batter.

That truffle recipe should have called for heavy cream not milk.

Your right Marie, that was my mistake.

You might just save it as a base to make really good hot chocolate. I've done that in the past when I've gotten chocolate santas that I didn't want. Warm some milk in a saucepan and add the mixture by the spoonful until it tastes right.

Basic Truffles

This is a basic truffle filling to which you can add your own flavorings or extracts. You may use this to fill the chocolate shells you make using candy molds or roll into balls then into powdered sugar, cocoa, sprinkles or other toppings

Where did you get the recipe? Flour and baking powder and egg would maybe turn it into brownies but not going to make truffles.

That is what I was thinking

I agree, truffles are chocolate/cream and perhaps some kind of liquer. If they don't setup properly try using less liquid next time.

The kids will love this homemade, creamy hot chocolate recipe using unsweetened cocoa, white sugar, and milk.

What about turning into a hot cocoa? Too much liquid for brownies now I think about it.

was thinking hot cocoa too OR you could try adding crushed graham wafers of vanilla wafers and some cocunut to soak up some liquid, maybe 1/2 cup at at time let it sit for 10 min then add more and try to roll into balls. Also cocoa powder-real stuff would thicken a bit.

I wonder if you went ahead and added butter and more chips if that would work. The butter would replace the fat that would be missing from the cream....

Add powdered sugar until it looks like the filling you need for your truffles
