My mind is a blank. After a change in plan, hubby needs a side dish/appetizer/or dessert to take to work that will be able to sit out all day. No way to heat up, no crockpot, or to keep cold. Any ideas ladies and gents? Thanks for any help!!

I have several ideas for desserts, but that's an easy out. I have sent hot stuff in before, not knowing they don't heat it up beforehand.

These chestnuts are roasted in the oven, not over an open fire…but they're still a delicious holiday snack!

I looked at those on another post. Not sure I'd want to leave them out all day with eggs in there though. Thanks Misty.

The eggs shouldn't be an issue here. Cakes, cookies and all sorts of things that no one would ever think to refrigerate have eggs.

In this snack recipe, chickpeas are simply seasoned and roasted. Also, try as a salad topping

Sweet and sour sauce brings a new Asian-inspired twist to the traditional pasta salad. Serve with your favorite chicken, pork, or beef as a refreshing side dish.

I was looking at an oriental salad(one with the ramen noodles in it), it has a vinegar/sugar/oil dressing, that might be ok too.

If all else fails, I'm going with dessert! :) I'm going for some ice cream and bed, early up in the morning. Thanks all! I'll check back in the am.

These grean beans are easy and taste good. They can be eaten at room temp.

Tabbouleh II

Such a refreshing salad and it holds nicely in the refrigerator if you want to make it ahead. Light and nutty bulgur is soaked in water until it 's fluffy and ready to be combined with parsley, mint, tomatoes, and a bit of oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Serves four.

I have used this for years and it is very good; much easier than the traditional method and tastes just as good.
