We are having a food day at work next week. I'm trying to decide what to take. A lot of people will bring something they pick up at the store, but I would like to make something that will really wow them. I'm thinking of an appetizer or some kind of finger food, but really anything goes. Thanks!

Took this to a football party and people went gaga for it! bake before work and wrap in a few layers of foil, holds the heat in well. Serve in slices with a side of marinara.

It's easy to make lots and lots of these cream-cheese-based rounds: Simply use extra-large tortillas and roll them up with the smooth and crunchy filling.

Potato Salad Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs get a stuffing of potato salad for a tasty little bite on a summer day. Bring to a picnic, a cookout, or just serve for brunch or a light meal.

I'm also looking....just got an e-mail saying we're having a get-together at noon on the 19th. Nurse Ellen's recommendation is always good. I'm trying to think of something halfway healthy yet good, not too many calories.

Deviled eggs are always a popular choice. People go gaga for them and they are pretty easy to make. Thanks for the idea.

Dec. 11, 2012 10:08 am ...thinking of this. I haven't made it and can only find sliced smoked Gouda. So I might just crumble the Gouda and mix it in.

That is my kind of appetizer. I love cheese. I really like the individual ball idea. They may not make it to work if I made them, though. I would be tempted to eat them all.

Lol. Love cheese! Make yourself accountable to someone or put the scale in the kitchen. Or just double the recipe.

I always took Monkey Bread and it was a huge hit...I would get up a little bit early, bake it, and take it in warm. The elevator always smelled like Cinnamon after I got off at my floor! Folks that came in after knew right away that I had brought it in..never lasted long at all.

I've never made Monkey Bread but that sounds like a great idea.

Don't you hate it when you spend $ 15 and two hours in the kitchen and someone brings in a bag of store brand chips!!! And that person is always the person who eats the most!!
Dec. 11, 2012 5:13 pm
Yes, I do. Once, we had a guy bring in a can of green beans and set it on the table. He didn't even open the can. There is another one who never brings in anything, but eats every time. I would love to know what goes on in their brains. Well, maybe not.
