Sorry that I am treating this like my private Q&A today - this one is because I'm prepping soup for tomorrow and will share it w/ friends who don't cook and want to eat well! (Any day now I'll be more absent.) I know to put potato chunks in water; should I put carrots and celery in bowl too? I know they get a little brown w/out water but don't want to have them mush out if H2O is bad. Thank you!

Either way. You can just put them in the fridge without water and they will be fine.

I don't see a big problem with this. I can't quite see why the potato/carrots or celery would absorb water from being soaked in it. Mind, I'd change the water tomorrow!

I am telling myself I MUST make soup and a grain tomorrow. Everything will be ready to go. I've been throwing out too much fresh produce lately!!
