Sounds like a night for chicken soup for you...sorry to hear they have the flu.

I'm sorry! Hope all is well soon and no one gets terribly sick. Have you had a flu shot?

lisa

Of course, neither of these 2 will touch chicken noodle(or chicken rice) soups, sick or healthy. They WILL eat ramen noodles, tho(eye roll).

I did, TSP, but the kiddos haven't. I know, bad mom. We all got flu shots 2-3 years ago & proceeded to get a strain of flu by the end of that week. It was such a horrible experience that no one has forgotten & everyone is convinced they got it because they got the shot. I've already announced that they're ALL getting the flu shot next year, whether they want it or not!

Hang in there, Lisa. I just heard a report on the news this morning and they said be prepared to be laid out for a week if you catch the flu! That's a lot of Ramen Noodles!

Sorry about the boys. My son is the same way. Will eat ramen but not "real" soup. I hope they feel better soon and that the rest of you don't get it.

Sorry to hear they're ill! I hope they bounce back quickly. As for Ramen-at least it's inexpensive!

Sorry lisa :( My DH has been home recuperating from surgery for a week. I made chicken soup but he won't eat it-- he wants the canned stuff. I think the salt appeals to him?? Sigh. . . .

Oh, and I think he likes that icky " can" taste. Blech!

Oh no, I don't think you would. It's my own guilt at not making them get it. I just had my youngest & my daughter at the dr's & turned down the shot because they didn't want it.

On the news last night they said the flu was hitting earlier and harder this year. We've got to get our shots today. There's nothing like Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup when you are recovering enough. Don't know what it is about it other than the salt and childhood memories perhaps.

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

A hearty blend of beef, pork and pepperoni enriches a zesty simmer of tomatoes, peppers, garlic, onion, carrots, celery and a medley of spices. This recipe makes enough to freeze for later use.

We are having burritos. Such an easy recipe that I found on pinterest. Put beef chunks in crockpot with a large can of enchilada sauce ( I use green), 2 bouillon cubes and that is it. Once tender, put meat on tortilla with a slotted spoon. Fold up like a burrito and put in pan. Once they are all done, pour the sauce from crockpot on top and cover with cheese. You are supposed to bake til cheese melts but I just pop it in the microwave.

I must be crazy because I roasted a turkey over the weekend. My MIL cooked the turkey on T-Day and I didn't bring home many leftovers. The family was still craving turkey! Usually I make soup, but gonna give this a whirl!
