I am sooooooooo behind. I cleaned family room carpet today. Maybe tomorrow I can get going on some baking! I can feel time slowly slipping between my fingers. I don't even have a good start on my present shopping yet. ACK!

I was going to get a game plan going, so I can start getting stuff out and get prepped. I think I am going to do some amaretto balls first after I get the kitchen counters cleaned off again. I was going to make spread cake and was over at the MILs this afternoon and she had already gotten all the ingredients and was planning to make, so go mom!

They're on next week's schedule...between ACLS and Christmas At The Stepddaughter's (9-15th). Hoping to get it all done! Will make sugar cookie dough for DH, but that won't be until after Christmas. We have a really CRAZY Christmas schedule!

I make these every year for our annual cookie open house. We make about 15 to 20 different kinds of cookies and have a 4 hour open house with friends. We then prepare cookie trays to take to shut ins and freeze the rest to enjoy all year long. My husband helps with this four day project! He's retired ... and I'm partially retired. It has been a long standing tradition that we enjoy every year!

I actually have started the baking - I have pecan tassies made, chocolate chip, no-bakes, gingerbread biscotti, and Magic Cookie Bars - all made and in the freezer. Not one bit of shopping have I done yet....

I've started shopping, little bit at a time, there is probably more hiding in the closet than I realize.

The neighbor and I have exchanged cookie trays for year(25?). I love his date bars, was thinking about trying my hand at some or maybe some other fruit bar.

Ganache recipe used in many bakeshops. Melt, and pour over cakes as a glaze, or chill and whip until light for a filling. Ganache is a very versatile icing. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or about 3 days at room temperature.

WTH is up with all the name changes, and pro status? Been busy for the longest time. Tree is up, waiting on the Baby Redneck to finish dishes so we can decorate it. Cookie dough is all made and chilling. Tomorrow is for bars, squares and fudge, and baking said cookies. Shopping-done. House cleaning-done. In reality, I have 6 good days left of true Christmas prepping and life will ease on down the chimney. How ya been Sassy girl?

These are in the freezer...I don't care for them, but I'll add a glaze and I'm sure DH will eat them. Next week I'll make Cranberry Orange cookies, Tollhouse cookies with half chocolate, half PB chips. And Ritz Cookies...another PB & Chocolate. And Pretzels covered with white chocolate. Don't know what else some fudge maybe, but that's a good start. I just need the time to work on them. Oh, and DH's fav...the oatmeal cookies with bits of orange slices in them. Sugar cookie dough for the freezer, but I'll make them after Christmas with DD. And dog biscuits, several types, for DD's "children". With the bone cookie cutter, of course!
