They sound really good, but I am not sure what 5 grain cereal is. What is the brand?

I purchased this cereal in my local Coop where they sell bulk cereal. Do you have Bob's Red Mill products where you are in the US. They might have something similar to the cereal that I am using for this recipe.

Yes, we have Bob's. Is it a cereal to be cooked?

Yes, I checked out the website and what they have for 5 grain cereal would work also. It might be slightly different than what I have with a few different grains but it will still produce a good healthy cookie.

I do cook the cereal with a half cup of raw cereal added to 1 cup of boiling water and then let it stand for a few minutes before adding to the dough.

This? Looks like a good alternative to oatmeal.
