do you have to be a paying member to look at reviews? every one i try will not work

No, you have to be a paying member to look at menus. Reviews everyone can see. What reviews are causing issue for you? Your own, you can see if you go to MyAllrecipes, then Reviews. On each recipe page, there is a spot to look at all of the reviews.

No, reviews are viewable by all. Click the blue 'read reviews' near the top of any recipe to view.

thanks i was trying to look at pro gauche & oatmeal raisin cookies i couldn't read the whole review on them

Do you mean you can see only part of each review? If so, under each review is "see full review" in blue. That will bring up the entire revie. At the bottom right of that review is "see all reviews" which will take you to all the reviews.

I don't think you're the only one having problems with the links to recipes and/or pictures. I have to use the links at the top of the recipe page to get any pop-up to appear. The total "number" of phots link gets to the rest of the photos and the reviews link up there gets to the popup that lets you select all reviews or scroll through them. However, the side arrows to scroll also don't work for me, but if I click 'see all reviews', I get the old list format and can browse through them that way.
 
We do our best to make sure that Allrecipes user contributions are appropriate, but if you see anything questionable, please let us know so we can address the issue.
