AR doesn't fix the problems that currently exist, but they will continue to add new and improved (in their opinion)things.

To me it makes supporting members look like paid employees.

Imo, it looks dumb! Why not keep the stars? Just b/c you Pay for the Membership does not automatically make you a Pro! No offense:) But most of us are just folks trying to get a meal on the table:)

OMG. Now I'm DEFINATELY not going blue. I'd just DIE. Sorry, but "Pro"? OMG. I'm sure many of you ARE but just because I pay to support a site, I certainly don't consider myself a pro. I'd be totally embarassed by that :(

Changes are mainly to the look of the Recipe Box . . . added some buttons that were in a drop down menu before . . . the only substantive change seems to be a new folder named 'Submitted' . . . thinking it might hold any recipes submitted for AR approval but just a guess.

Oh for Heaven's sake!!!! Can the Recipe Box look any more confusing?? You can hardly read what's what at the top of the page with everything overlapping. Another "improvement"....NOT!

I think their prices are ridiculous. $35.00 for year? If they offered the *discounted* rate of $22.00 for a 2 year period, I'd enroll again, but no way with their regular fees. CEO's must be members of the 2% club

What a waste of programming resources when this sites has so many known issues they have never fixed.

Nov. 28, 2012 5:53 pm
Saveur is right about the "caste system". They've actually been building the system for some time now. A good example of it is when they started the daily tally on "top submitter" (example only) and most popular this and that. Then the "Allstar" thing. At first it was just called "Brand Ambassador" which is quite nice, but "Allstar" is just elitist because "Allstar" generally means a select group of the best of the best judged by superior performance. Think any sports "Allstar" team. Am I really the only one getting a bit tired of all the blogs and pics about the same thing? Pics...a whole other can of worms.

Nov. 28, 2012 6:05 pm
LOL is this supposed to make all the others feel bad about not being "pro's" (as in professional?) :o) I completely agree with mimosa. AND, there used to be either decent pictures to illustrate each recipe, or no picture at all. Now, everyone gets their turn in having the picture they took be the one that illustrates any given recipe, even if said picture is absolutely horrid and would not make you want to try the recipe in a million years... a good recipe should deserve a decent picture -right? This is a huge pet peeve with me, sorry.

And I'm not even a PRO-fessional working girl anymore. My last day is Friday. So far today, my mouse froze up, my phone froze up, now I'm a pro. And Mimosa, I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. Nothing against the fine ladies and gents here.

Amazing. Amazingly bad, that is. I used to work with users on system usability, enhancements, training, etc. If AR is working with users, I sure can't figure out who they are. The only thing I can think of is that for some reason this is something they can sell to advertisers. This is so ugly. And just so out of place. I'm afraid to look at my recipe box...

What's for dinner, mom?
Nov. 28, 2012 8:08 pm
Wow! Another "USEFUL" change by AR? If I were new to this site I would not be thinking "Oh, look, these people must be "good at using the site" so they are "PRO's". I would - at first glance- think that these designated people were chefs or some sort of professional/employed/trained cook. A member of the AR staff potentially. Not just another user like me. I would think that they must be the ones with the best help and knowledge to offer. Totally misleading. I am NO PRO. I burn $hit all the time, I forget to add yeast/salt/sugar/eggs to a recipe and I spend way too much time in front of my freezer wondering what the he11 is this thing I forgot to label! I have, now, finally given up the ghost of the idea that AR is "OURS" and the "WE" as a collective, who use this site daily and contribute to THE LIFE of it, matter. We have asked repeatedly for changes to be implemented. Good ones that would make the site more user friendly, more welcoming and have a clearer, simplified use. AR does not care what its users, supporters and what those who give this site its beating heart want. They have a focus in mind that is apparently not interested in what its customers want.

What's for dinner, mom?
Nov. 28, 2012 8:27 pm
On a cooking site where members are asked to rate themselves (cooking levels in your profile) as cooks, this PRO status is very misleading. I can go PRO on other sites or items for services but the inference here has a double meaning.

isn't technology in the wrong hands great? ha ha...I don't mind changes if they'd give some notice, but to just sign in & find out all this stuff is pretty strange...oh well, the only thing that stays the same is change and we either go with it, or we die... Personally, I did like the little blue star better than PRO beside the names, but I didn't have a vote...always a surprise when coming in here these days! Have a good one folks! :)
