Yesterday, I was gifted about 10 pounds of walnuts in the shell harvested straight from the orchard. After I shell and eat a pound, I need to figure out what to make with the other nine pounds. PLEASE hit with with your favorite recipes. Anything goes, sweet, savory.... I want them all. TIA

Sweet, nutty, and herbally aromatic, this vinaigrette compliments a wide variety of dishes, and is easy to make! The sugared walnuts, nut oils, and fresh herbs dramatically open the palate for roasted meats, crisp wines, and full-bodied fare. It is a great herald for spring!

Candied walnuts, oh yeah! In a salad, even better. Thank you Patty! This might make it to the TG table. I have everything But the multicolored peppercorns. I could omit, I guess.

LOL, my hairdresser loves me Nanny. I've been going to her for years. She calls my time with her my "beautification appointments." LOL! After she's finished with me, she always tells me "you are stinking' cute!" (She tells all her clients that, I'm sure)

Maybe something like this? Also, a friend of mine freezes Walnuts and she's been doing it for years so I think they must fare ok if they're wrapped up well. She does shell them first..so that's work. :(

you can freeze them in the shell also-- double bag them- take out as needed- mama always made walnuts in the oven -tossed in melted butter sugar and a sprinkle of salt- so yummy

This is a family recipe that's been made at Christmas time by at least 4 generations. This year will be the first for number 5!!! 'Bubba' brought it with her when she came from Lithuania. I pass it on in the true spirit of this season!

Don't have a recipe, but they store longer in the freezer. Nuts can go rancid at room temp due to the oils.
