I just turned it off..kinda seems like overkill. I wish they would just address conmon questions... Emergency substitutions, that type of thing.

Yea, I agree....awkward. They are all trying to be funny and it just is not working. Alton acts like a clown and seems to make the others uncomfortable. It would also appear that some of them have had a few too many glasses of wine before the show started making them act giddy.

I kinda think Giada is full of herself. Not nice, I know.

I noticed the wine too!! I only turned it on ( while cleaning for the day) with the promise of "useful holiday tips". Not so much! Just awkwardness ...

I'm not getting that show. Instead I'm getting Sweet Genius. Its a competition. Wish I was able to see Alton and Giada.

I do often wonder what the Foodnetwork does with those industrial sized kitchens. I know they probably prep food for the various shows, but there also seems like there is an army of other cooks doing things in the background. I doubt it is just for effect, but wonder where all that food goes?

Didn't see the show but it'll probably get repeated a 100 thousand times between now and Thursday. I'm not and have never been a Giada fan. She is too full of herself, Annette.

I taped it and did have plans of watching it....not so sure I am anti-Giada. I used to like her until she turned beyond skinny and full if herself!

No Korilnne - it's a must " awkward " see!!!

Several of the Foodnetwork stars seems to become self-absorbed by the whole 'personality' thing, I like the ones best who just cook and act like themselves without some fake/phoney persona.

I watched it earlier, it was really weird when someone (off camera) told Alton to move away from Giada. Strange!

And poor Ree kind of looked left out.

Noisy and chaotic. A waste of Alton Brown's immense talent. I fell asleep while watching it.

LOL....I noticed that about the off camera remark. I assume the staff realized that Giada perhaps had a bit too much to drink and was acting giddy, so they encourage ALton to stay away from her. I think the holiday shows they did in the past where they taped a segment from each chef making a different part of the meal was a much better format. The random nature of this show in trying to making it look like reality TV just didn't work. Obviously in a 2 hr show, you can't roast a turkey, so the one that Bobby started preparing was certainly not the one shown later in the show.

And, I realize this is more me being weird, but at the end Giada was picking the fried cornflakes off of the fried ice cream and sitting there eating them. I wouldn't have been able to eat those knowing she was doing that. Grossed me out.

I didn't know what she was picking at Scotdog (I tuned in late)...but couldn't believe she was picking at everything on the plate. If she was picking just off one "piece" it wouldn't have bothered me. Yes, I think she over indulged a bit...LOL

LOL! She was certainly the attention seeker on the show.
