Seven Layer Salad

A glass salad bowl is a must, otherwise your diner guests will miss all the pretty layers. Those layers begin with chopped lettuce and go on from there - onion, peas, shredded cheese, bacon, cauliflower, and finally a creamy parmesan and mayonnaise dressing.

this is hand's down my favorite salad at ANY function. The other's are much more festive tho! Salads w/fruits(strawberries, cranberries, mandarins) are very popular but I detest fruit in my salad so I stick w/this :)

I personally don't serve a green salad for Thanksgiving. Too many other choices instead for me. However, all these sound great that are mentioned above.

I've also been considering not doing a green salad this year. Maybe just some tomatoes with some good dressing on them.

Besides curry, this dazzling salad has yummy sunflower seeds and dried cherries. It tastes great and looks super when presented on a big, beautiful platter. Marinate overnight so that the flavors of the curry/mayonnaise dressing has time to work.

This may sound like a crazy idea, but the flavors are really good with Turkey, potatoes stuffing etc. I have been serving this for a few years part can be made ahead,so its nice and cold.

If serving any kind of green leafy salad, I never add the dressing ahead of time. Tends to make the lettuce soggy and you can't store the leftovers. Serve the dressing on the side and let everyone add their own.
