Any one have a favorite recipe for homemade cranberry sauce? Need a bit of encouragement please. Thanksgiving is my guy's B-day. Once every four years. Thing is, everyone is mad at everyone. So back in the day celebration can't happen. My sons are mad at friends and each other etc. He wants to invite his folks. We have never had them over for anything in 15+ years! Have to go to my Pa's for a week and worried about our greeby house. I know how to make a Turkey dinner but oh berjeebers! His folks over for dinner?

Oh Redly... you know what they say? Thanksgiving is "family time." Kind of like "doing time" but without the bars!! No suggestions just wishes for a stress free day for you!!

Rohnda, thank you for the perspective! So fussy but in reality I only have to clean our "great room" equals kitchen and living room combined. I'm freaking 53 years old! Why am I being so intimidated? Answer===because it matters, for him. LOL No bars!!! Thx.

Thank you AGP. Saved and maybe I'll make a couple of cranberry sauces. Instead of being so anxious, perhaps I should focus on the feast. Have never made any C-berry sauce from scratch before. Handsome guy will greet anything I come up with in enthusiasm and will help me. After so many years, if he wants to have his folks over, I must find the positive way. Must embrace his B-day and him!

Apple cider, a hint of orange, and warm spices make this cranberry sauce very special indeed.

Actually I have started just cooking this down for about an hour to get it thick. The flavor is wonderful. I make this several times a year because it's great on pork roasts and chops too. Have you in-laws over and enjoy (even if you have to crack jokes under your breath)!! Everything will be wonderful!

Thank you mimosa. No crack jokes under breath but maybe a bit of eye rolling if his brother comes too!

I like this roasted cranberry sauce as the berries stay whole and beautiful. The bourbon and cinnamon add good flavor.

Thank you Marie C. My guy does like bourbon. Perhaps I should take a page from Rachael Ray's show today, as in she said make more than one cranberry sauce...

This one is the one I like too. And like CookinBug I grate a little zest in for more zing. The orange juice really brightens it up.

Blue Cranberry Sauce

A pint of fresh blueberries is incorporated into this recipe for a traditional cranberry sauce made from scratch. This sauce can be made a day or two ahead.

This is my families all time favorite. They didn't eat cranberry sauce until I started making this recipe.
