Leftover ground round steak ideas? My bf brought over some ground round which I knew going in to cooking it would be tough. He tried to stir fry it with some light seasonings, but now I have 1.5lbs left of it with no clue what to do with it. I cannot face reusing it in a same dish, so, please help me with ideas on what to do? A soup? Thank you in advance.

Ooh yummy! I love chili, however, the ground round is not ground up; it's still in a steak form? Should I run it through my food processor? Or should I try adding the cooked ground steak at the end?

You could cut into small chunks, I would add at the beginning. It may help to cook it longer to make it tender.

All "ground round" is ground. It looks like hamburger meat. If it hasn't been ground up, it's not ground anything.

This soup is made with leftover veggies. My kids call it garbage soup because it would have been garbage if we hadn't made soup! Throw in any type vegetables you have in your fridge to add some flavor.

or soup... you can add whatever you have on hand for this.. it is very good for use of leftovers.

I'm not quite sure what you have, there, but wondering if some sort of beef, cheese and pepper sandwich might not be an option, with some sort of tomato soup/sauce to get rid of some of the dryness? Otherwise, tortier or shepherd's pie?

How about a nice stew? Brown the beef with some onion, salt & pepper. Add chopped carrots, celery and potatoes. Add beef stock or water to cover. Simmer for about 1 1/2 hours. Thicken or not. Wonderful!

One thing is for sure, you don't have "ground round" on your hands. Is it tenderized (holes poked in it by the butcher) round steak or just a piece of round? Slow braising is often the best method for such a cut.

I don't think I could place the already cooked meat in a slow cooker, could I? I will definately keep that in mind next time I have this piece of steak! Thank you.
