Help...I thought i had saved this recipe but I can't find it in my recipe box. It was an onion bread - you cook sliced onions in butter and then stuff them into a cross cut bread with mozzarella cheese. I have tried looking under onion bread/party bread and friendship bread. Does anyone know the recipe i am talking about?

I know what you are talking about. It is a recipe from Taste of Home, and their recipes are no longer a part of AllRecipes. I'm trying to find it for you.

Plenty of garlic and melted Italian cheeses taste wonderful on pieces of sliced French bread.

Onion Cheese Bread

This bread is yummy served as an appetizer or with soup. 'We nicknamed it Louisiana Lagniappe Bread,' relates Debbie Letzring from Pineville, Louisiana. ''Lagniappe' is Louisiana French for 'extra', and this bread is extra-good.'
