Foods that help you sleep include bananas, yogurt, nuts, peanuts, oatmeal, hummus, beans, dairy and soy products, whole grain breads and cereals. Good bedtime snacks are oatmeal with milk, yogurt with cantaloupe, peanut butter on bread, hummus and whole grain pita chips. Avoid apples, aged cheese, alcohol, ham, potatoes, sauerkraut, tomatoes and spinach.
