Easy enough and the slow cooker keeps it warm. Maybe a side of slaw potato salad etc.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Bake chicken breasts in a delectably rich sauce made of butter, dry Italian salad dressing mix, wine, golden mushroom soup and cream cheese with chives. Serve over angel hair pasta for a dish that is fit for your most elegant dinner parties.

You can make this chicken in the crockpot.

Wonderful salad for the holiday seasons. Great to serve for dinner at home or to take to a family gathering during the holidays.

You can sub cheeses and nuts of your choice: parmesan, slivered almonds or pecans. An easy dressing is 3/4 c. poppyseed and 1/4 c. Balsamic vinaigrette combined.

I would suggest chili, as did Celeste...you can make it in a crock pot and keep it warm to allow for the "comings and goings" An alternative might be some sort of fried chicken (more or less "good" hot or cold) with potato salad, cole slaw and the like, or you could think baked ham, because it works both hot and cold... y opinion only, but this seems sort of a poor way for your SiL to accept an invitation, so my recommendation would be whichever she would enjoy the least...

A charming beef stew flavored with red wine and vegetables. This recipe makes lots of stew, so invite some friends over.

I'd fix some type of soup-several, if you are able to keep them warm. Add some fresh made rolls or biscuits, some crudites, maybe with dip. Maybe a little fruit and cheese or a cookie bars or a cake that is dense enough to just pick up and eat. We enjoy this recipe, but after the first time I have not used the wine-just personal taste.

A hearty combination of beans, corn, tomatoes, and taco seasonings, slow cooked with shredded chicken. Top each bowl with Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips. Made mostly of canned ingredients, this tasty soup lets the slow cooker do the work so you don't have to!

This is good, and is easily made vegetarian or vegan if needed.

This is a thick, hearty soup. Kids love this because of the cheesy flavor.

We enjoy this soup. DD was in her vegetarian phase when we started using this recipe, and I still make it without the meat.

The yeast dough for these sweet, delicate dinner rolls must rest in the refrigerator before baking.
