It's sweet so it's a good after dinner drink especially the aged ones like 10y/o or 15 y/o ports.. I find the 20 y/o isn't much difference to the 10 so I don't spend the money.. but I do have expensive taste in alcohol....

Great idea for a holiday weekend kick-off, Savvy! I love bloody mary's but I am gonna roll with a Mimosa. Just a"splash" of oj, please!! ;) 2. White wine, then red with dinner, if the entree calls for it! 3. Ice is the only thing to add to vodka! Ha-ha! 4. Beer, I like Blue Moon with an orange slice. 5. A big dill pickle in a bloody mary. 6. After dinner, coffee and a Grand Marnier. 7. Heck! Who wants to wait until 5! Going to pour a Pinot Grigio in a few minutes!! Lol! Have a wonderful and safe holiday!!

Maraschino cherries, love it! I saw a show once on how they are made, and a lot of work goes into making those tasty nibbles. Captain Morgan is a fave, I've never tried it with ginger, must do that!

Bloody mary, red, either (haven't tried rum!), depends on the beer (if it's tecate, in a can with lime and salt on the top - beergasm!, olives, suppose coffee's good, with some booze, port would be good (sister bought some chocolate port that was awesome!), and I think I'll have a coffee with some irish cream that I made recently - in as long as it takes me to make the coffee! Happy, safe, fun holiday weekend to you all! And very definitely thank you for the ride Barb :D

Great list, Heidi! Oh, my Tecate brings back some memories for me...all I'll say is it involves Dr. Scholls sandals, a Mayan pyramid, and lots of Tecate...there may have been a shot or two of tequilla in there, but that's all I'm sayin'!

Savvy - I make up my own by putting a little salt in the bottom of a 16 o.z.glass , a dribble of lemon juice , a couple of olives , and fill the glass half full with Clamato . Stir well , and top with beer . YUM!!

Mimosa! No wine, chocolate martini instead please. Pass on the tonic. Beer straight up, but not my favorite choice. Cherries for garnish. After dinner, I want dessert. At five I had water and was still at work! I don’t have time to sit yet, but I’m working on it. Safe travels everyone! We are going to southwest ohio tomorrow, gotta get my beans done and still haven't decided on an appy. Have to run to my Dads, see ya!

Oops, have to slow down on the wine! 5. Favorite all time cocktail garnish: favorite cocktail is a Margarita, so the garnish would be a slice of fresh lime. Redo the rest of the numbers for me, OK? {{{Giggling}}}
