Hubby and I are going to Florida next week. We are going on a deep sea fishing charter that catches 'Grunts' and 'Sea Bass'. What can you tell me about Grunts and how to cook them. THANKS :)

This is a very unique breakfast dish. Good for any holiday breakfast or brunch, it's filled with the fresh taste of blueberries, and covered with a rich blueberry sauce to make it a one of a kind.

Ignore recipe, grunt fish are similar in appearance to snapper. They actually grunt by rubbing their toothplates in their throats. You can grill them. first marinade in olive oil, lemon and herbs of your choice. Or bread them and fry in peanut oil. Happy fishing!

a little history-- grunts were a staple of the depression era menus here in Key West. The traditional meal included "grits and grunts"-- fried fish with a side dish of grits. The fish are so small that, cleaned up, they make very tiny filets-- just perfect for a quick egg wash, breading, and deep fat frying. Enjoy your trip!
