I am looking for a wet burrito recipe that will taste like the ones served at the Beltline Bar in Grand Rapids, MI. Or barring finding one that tastes like the Beltline version, a recipe for a wet burrito served at the Old Timers Tavern in Sunfield, MI. I have tried some other wet burrito recipes and nothing has come close to either one of those yet. Any help is appreciated.

Since I've never been there, it's hard to know what you are wanting. I googled & several recipes pop up . . . http://cookeatshare.com/recipes/grand-rapids-wet-burrito-56412?ref=p_title

SD, thanks for the link. I've seen that one, and it doesn't have the sauce on the outside. Here is the link to the Beltline Bars Wet Burrito menu http://www.beltlinebar.com/index.php/menu/world_famous_wet_burritos/ - - I'm looking for the Beltline Bar's Famous Wet Burrito. The sauce and beef filling is great. For pictures of the wet burrito here are a couple. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jtntiiiaoGE/R4gX3UrHyAI/AAAAAAAAAJg/Z87ynWHLCu4/s320/14938350_48703585ec_m.jpg and http://www.beltlinebar.com/images/sized/media/files/promotions/BLB_WetBurrito_619x391_1-619x391.jpg

Yes, I tried it and though it didn't taste bad, it wasn't quite what I'm looking for.

It's diffiult when people want a recipe to taste like a local restaurant..chances are that we have no idea what people want..maybe describe it a bit more.

Sidewinder - I don't have a recipe, but I see you are from Michigan. I am too and I just wanted to pass on an amazing Mexican restuarant. It is in Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor border. Look it up - trust me, you won't be disappointed!!!!! Pacific Beach Burritos on Washtenaw Road. If you feel like taking a ride - you HAVE to try it! Tell them Ashley sent you :) Enjoy!!!

Ashley - When I get back to MI again I'll have to try it out. That does sound good. My brother took me to a Mexican restaurant in one of the towns out that way (Novi, maybe) and it was a good amount of food. If you are in the Ann Arbor area, do you ever eat at Steve's Lunch in Ann Arbor (A small restaurant that served Korean food). They had the best be bim bop when I ate there last.

Sorry, no recipe from me either. However, I've had Beltline bars burritos a few times & love them! If you DO end up finding something close, PLEASE share!

Lisa, will do. I figure it might be time to do some experimenting in the kitchen to see if I can get something close.

I have never been there or had those so have no idea what they taste like. Have you had a Taco Bell Enchirito? Does the sauce you want taste anything like that? I make my Enchiritos (wet burritos) at home and use 1 7.5 oz bottle of Taco Bell Hot Sauce and 1 small can of tomato sauce simmered together. Taco Bell Hot sauce is sold at Super Wally World and just recently I saw it in Tom Thumb as well. Maybe this will be close enough or you could spice it up???

Pamela, No I haven't tried the Taco Bell Enchirito. I might give the recipe Molly posted a try before mixing up to many things. I'm not sure if they sell the taco bell hot sauce here at the commissary, so I'll have to look sometime when I'm there.
