What is your best/worst/scariest spring cleaning experience? See kimbraman's post about not finding her purple cup even after spring cleaning. My worst is cleaning the spindle plate rail on top of kitchen cupboards. Gross! (kitchen grease)

I just took apart the hood of my stove- that was nasty! We actually replaced the whole thing, it was better that way...lol Next- spinach died in my veggie box in the fridge- don't want to go in there- don't want to open that drawer- but I need to use it for live veggies now.

I'm watching Hoarders right now and I'm thinking I need to clean a closet or something (or everything!). Then I see the ad for Kirstie Alley's show and now I know I need to lay off the snacks. Sigh...

And guess what? My new one, that I have directions for says I can take the metal thingy out and shove it in the dishwasher once a month...woo hoo! It cost me some cash, but that's why I saved my tax return for house repair junk!

Ah, Magnolia, I quit drinking soda as of yesterday, because I saw it can cause pancreatic cancer. Ignorance IS bliss! I have this pantry cupboard that looks like the houses in Hoarders...at least it inspires me to clean!

What is the tried & true method for cleaning windows streak-free? Windows, glass china cabinets, I always wind up with streaks. Usually use Windex, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.

I hear using newspaper and some vinegar solution does the trick for windows. I hate when paper towels leave paper dust in the glass.

Was cleaning the cabinets, and accidentally swabbed the wall, so then had to clean the walls of the kitchen as well. Was not on my list! (Oh,no! Not cleaner than planned!!!)

All this talk about cleaning, now I realize my freezer needs to be defrosted and cleaned out of "mystery" items. I'm tired before I start.. By the end of the night, I'm going to have a list as long as my arm.

This isn't pretty so no details - outside spring cleaning - compost bin - me with a shovel - lots of baby mice and a very upset momma and poppa. 'nough said. I relive the experience every spring.

Thankfully no compost bin or rodents, except for the darn moles tunneling through the yard. Need to start pulling quackgrass out of the flower beds, you know, the kind of grass that has roots that go on forever? The tiniest piece left will continue its life in another place in your flower bed. Need to get out the Round-up.

Ew!! Mice and spiders and bees! Oh my! I found a potato that got shoved behind a bunch of bowls so it had sprouted so much I thought it was some kind of spiderweb or something. I screamed and ran like a maniac away from the kitchen. Nasty.

Cleaned carpets today. My acking back!Cleaned the ceiling fan last week.Gross!I've been killing hard shelled black bugs in the house and before the snow storm was fighting the slugs on the front porch. They like the cat food.OMG they are so gross.I sprinkled rock salt all over the porch and in the flower beds. That pretty much takes care of them. Also if you have a mole put pee down the whole.I know it sounds weird but it works.

Magnolia, some time back about 2 years ago, I uploaded a photo of the tranuchla I found on my fritos bag on here to the site in my pictures....It was a big honky sucker....I will blog about it, sometime later when I get home from work......I'm waiting on my relief to get here so I may go home.... And LadySparkle, we did move...hahahaha we had just bought my grandfather's house---but after that move to my grandfather's house....we had MICE!!!! I have a nice lovely blog about my cat and the mice issue...interesting reading to say the least....We still have that house but we moved to post housing because of hubby's job.

The absolute worst... well, that would have to be years ago when we were renting an apartment. It was a cute little apartment, in good shape, and seemed really clean. Well, the refrigerator went on the fritz, and needed to be replaced... they came in and removed it, and it was sooooo gross under there! I had to clean it before I would let them put the new one in. I just couldn't stand the thought of all of that gunk under there! EEEEWWWWWW!!!!

I'd been working on a painting project for some weeks. All the paints were in a box lid on the back patio. I decided it was time to pick up the paints and put them away. Moved a can, and THE MOTHER OF ALL BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS came skittering out from behind the can! I started screaming and couldn't stop, and meanwhile my RM stomped on it. It was all very traumatic! That same year, we found black widow spiders in the kitchen cupboards and underneath my bed, among other places. We had to get the house fumigated, it was so bad!

Although I can't really call it spring cleaning, the worst was after the house fire and had to clear everything out of the house. A cold December with no heat in the house because of the fire, soaked items mixed with soot and ash. Ugh!

My best and worst both have to do with pets.....Best cleaning experience - after my beloved dog, Daisy, passed away, I kept remembering this photo I had taken of her on our deck the year before. It captured her perfectly, and was just a very poignant portrait of her. But of course I couldn't find it after she was gone, and I convinced myself I must have forgotten to download it and was just remembering the image on the little screen (I had been borrowing my MIL's digital camera at the time and had since given it back) So, I figured it was lost forever...then one day I was rearranging our dining room, moved this table and lo and behold, the photo was right there in a stack of bowls I kept under the table! Worst....two weekends ago...basement...three cats....I'll say no more. ;)
