Thunder Bay, ON has a bakery shop called Persian Man. Persians are a cinnamon bun/doughnut with a pink frosting. Does anyone have a recipe for Persians?

Apparently a very localized thing, and a very well kept secret. It's meant to be a take off of the Pershing donut, but with the icing making it special... the problem is that nobody seems to be able to tell if it's raspberry or strawberry, even, that lends it's flavor. :) Good luck with finding a copy cat!

Mmmm. Love Persians, and both my husband and I used to get them at local bakeries where we grew up (me in Milwaukee, and my husband in Massachusetts)... Will try to find a recipe; they are wonderful and just like you described!

Well, I found this link (or just scroll down). Didn't think this was such an unusual recipe. Interesting, we always just took them for granted, but come to think of it, we haven't seen them in years (things 'similar'). REF.:--->>>

I used to work in a bakery and we made doughnuts. Our Persians were made from the basic yeast raised donut dough. We rolled it out, like for cinnamon rolls, brushed it with egg wash, sprinkled it with plain cinnamon and rolled them up like the cinnamon rolls. Cut in slices, then flatten the slices with the flat of your hand and let raise, then fry. We used either a regular glaze or the maple bar icing on ours. For the pink icing, maybe they use a combo of strawberry and raspberry flavors since you can't tell which it is.

I derived this recipe after tasting something similar at a restaurant. It is wonderfully rich and filling.
