Kitten is looking for: (2 recommendations)
As a family, how are we all doing with the Swine Flu. I have had it, wow, nasty stuff. I started on Tamiflu, $100.00 per prescription. But, within 24 hours of the first Tamiflu, I was noticably better. How's everyone doing?

I have a lot of respirtory problems. On 24 hour oxygen and I have to sleep with a breathing machine. It seems I quit breathing when I go to sleep.

That is terrible Kitten but I am glad you are better! Hubby had some kind of 2 day fevering/body aches and as of today I've just gotten over some kind of 2 day tummy upset but other than that we are good. There is so much junk going around this year! Thank you for my recipe book you sent via email a couple of weeks ago. I appreciate you!

Do you have sleep apenia (sp?)? I REALLY think DH does and it makes me so nervous in the night but he is putting off going and getting tested. It messes with me and I never get a good night sleep because of it.

My husband and I are both very lucky since we don't work out of the house. We don't have children and I usually do all the shopping. We take very good vitamins so we hardly ever get sick (knock on wood). I'm sorry to hear about your flu and your respirtory problems.. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Yes Nicole, I do, severe. I had a virus that attacked my heart and lungs. I and the doctors have no idea how long I had been suffering the effects of the virus but in Febbruary I finally got so bad, I was hospitalized in ICCU for 12 days. The main way to tell if you have sleep apena is, do you dream. You have to be asleep for along time to get to REM sleep that's the deepest sleep where you dream. By the time I was hospitalized, it had been AT LEAST two years that I had a dream. I jsut figured I had been through so much crop around that time I was jsut too uneasy to dream. Nope, it was because I was never reaching REM sleep. I had a sleep test done and in a 7 hours of sleep, I stopped breathing 144 times. Whick figures out to every 2 1/2 minutes. I sleep with a breathing machine on , covers almost my whole face but, it's fine with me because I am dreaming again and quite often I will wake up from a nights sleep and I have dreamed about my husband and got to spend the entire night with him. If for no other reason, the machine is worth it. My husband passed away May of 07.

I have sleep apnea but it was real bad before I lost weight. I felt 100 percent better after getting tested and diagnosed. Your husband is cheating himself from good sleep if he is refusing treatment like I used to.

I got as sick as I did because of lack of oxygen. I remarked to my doctor as I was sitting in the ICCU and I said, "I had no idea not getting enough oxygen can make you so sick." He put his arm around my shoulder, gave me a hug and said, "Annie, going with oxygen can kill you, why wouldn't going without some oxygen make you awfully sick?" Made sense to me. Except for the 24 hour oxygen and the sleep mask, I am fine. I haven't felt this good in ages.

The other thing that happened was the virus caused me to develop Pulmonary Hypertension. That's very high blood pressure but in my lungs only.I have told this before but it is still funny. I take Revatio for the Pulmonary Hypertension. It is $15.00 a pill and I take 3 a day. I would cost me around #1,500 a month if I had to buy them. My doctor request a prscription from Pfizer Pharmacuticals and they send them to me free. In the prescribing brochure that came with the bottle was all the information and reactions and the very last line on this paper is, Pfizer Pharmacuticals also markets Revatio under the brand name of Viagra...I take Viagra 3 times a day. Let me tell you, it does nothing for a woman. But my husband would be rolling in the floor if he knew I was taking Viagra. Insuranc e companys wouldn't pay for it so the drug company changed the name for people who use it for Pulmonary Hypertension. That's why it was originally made.

Oh Kitten.. I'm sorry to hear you've been so ill. This Swine Flu has had me worried to a bad point then I pray about it and try to just trust everyone will be allright. I have a lot of people around me who feel very different about the whole thing. My 19 year old wont take the vaccine; he's a "conspiracy theory" freak! lol.. Doesn't trust it or the government for that matter... Thinks they're trying to make money or something. My husband myself and youngest son have all had our vaccines and have about 5 days before we are in the safe zone! Take care and God bless!..

I don't take drugs or vaccines, a couple of tips to help you get better is to take vitamins such as C & D. Also, get some fresh lemons and squeeze the juice from the lemon into a small glass of water. Don't dilute it too much, it was be tart, but this of it as a alcoholic shot ;) Lemons are naturally antiviral and antibacterial which means their properties will go into your body and fight the infection off naturally. Garlic also has the same properties. What I do is take garlic cloves and cut them into pill sized pieces and I swallow them like a pill with applesauce.

Kitten, I am so glad you are on the mend. You have had a rough time of it. I know how you feel about the C-Pap machine at night. I have used it for the past three years or so and feel so much better. I have chronic bronchitis and use a nebulizer at least twice a day. Sure do feel better since beginning those two treatments. I am living with daughter and her family right now since my husband passed away in July of 2007 and get to dream of him often. Never dreamed before starting the breathing machine at night either. We have not had the flu here and hoping not to get it! Kids are home schooled so exposure is less than it could be. Stay well!

Little blue pill? I heard it also perks up plant life...; that's what I heard or read somewhere. Did not know it was intended for pulmonary hypertension. Always learning something new...even as I am forgetting some things old. Thanks for the tip about dreaming. Makes me feel better about all my weird dreams. BTW, we are okay..no flu, but we'll be traveling in Dec. and April again...on airlines. Yikes. Maybe I'll order a lemonade with garlic juice. ;o)
