I'm feeding 100 high school students at competitions up to a 2 hour drive from my kitchen. Does anyone have suggestions as what to make? With a limited budget I need to keep hot dishes hot.

Borrow crock pots from your friends and I agree with sloppy joes. Keep the meat warm in the crocks, have the buns ready and maybe serve some coleslaw (cabbage is cheap this time of year but lettuce is high) or veggies and dip and cookies or brownies for dessert.

I would use a crick pot and make a good thick chicken vegetable soup and serve it with biscuits and cold slaw. One crockpot whould serve twenty kids a nice bowl each, so u would need five crockpots of soup. this should be easy on your pocket book and filling for them. Anne G.

I would definately go with spaghetti! You can boil the pasta ahead of time, and you only have to worry about keeping the sauce warm in crock pots or borrowed roasters. Some heaping bags of rolls from Costco and you are set.

My best suggestion would be to make or order huge sub sandwiches (different meats, toppings & maybe a vegan or two), cut them into several pieces & serve. Most sub sandwich franchises offer discounts to school function orders.
