Hi, Happy friday all. Maybe lisa's computer playing up again or she's having a nice lie in. cheers. Italian Style Arrabiata with Bucatini 60g/2oz Pancetta (or unsmoked Streaky Bacon) - chopped into thin strips 15g/½oz Butter 5tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil ½tsp Garlic - finely chopped 60g/2oz Spring Onion - finely chopped 2 x 400g/14oz Tins Plum Tomatoes - chopped ¼ to ½ tsp - to taste dried Chilli - crushed Small pinch Salt - to taste 3tbsp - Parmesan Reggianno - grated 15 or so fresh Basil Leaves - torn in ½in pieces 450g/1lb Bucatini Pasta Put 4tbsp oil and the butter in a frying pan large enough to accommodate the pasta; Melt the butter over a low heat, add the onions and cook gently, stirring occasionally, for some 2 minutes or so until the onion softens; Add the pancetta and garlic and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the garlic and the pancetta start to brown but nowhere near crispy; Add the tomatoes, chilli, a touch of salt and stirring continuously to break up the tomatoes, combine together well with the pancetta onion mixture; Increase to a high heat and bring to boil; Reduce heat to low and simmer for some 20 to 30 minutes or so, stirring occasionally, while sauce thickens a bit; Pour 4 pints water into a large saucepan, add 1tbsp salt and 1tbsp oil and bring to a boil over a high heat; Drop in the pasta, stirring well to mix and separate; When pasta is put on to boil, add torn basil to the sauce, turn up heat to medium and further thicken the sauce for some 5 to 8 minutes; When the pasta is cooked “al dente”, drain and add to sauce in frying pan; Add the grated cheese, stir and toss until the cheese and sauce is totally combined with the pasta; Taste for seasoning and serve immediately.

I only use that scampi recipe with good fresh large shrimp, those frozen bags of shrimp from Asia just seem tasteless lately.

Luv, I usually forget coupons at home. I tried keeping them in my car and forgot to take them inside the store. Stapled some to my grocery list, forgot about it by the time to check out. Love it when I use them though!

I have an organizer and keep it with my reusable bags.I tend to save about 30% on my grocery bill between them and sales so it's worth remembering if you can find a system. My fall back is to put a post it over the clock in my car for anything I shouldn't leave without. I always look at the clock, no matter what. Weird habit I got from leaving for work at the last minute :)

Cheryl's Cooking Now!
Feb. 15, 2013 5:33 am
Yep, I'd put them where you know they'll be. I know someone who has a notebook full of coupons clipped from 5 newspapers! She has them all catorized into those baseball sleeve covers. She said she saves over $900 per year!
