Thanks Deb! Savvy made this and gave it a good review and I totally trust her judgement! Happy Tuesday!

Yum, does look good. Savvy has good taste, well the same as me, so if she says it's good then it must be. :)

Red bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, Anaheim chile peppers, poblano chile peppers, and Guajillo chili powder combine to deliver heat and flavor to this Arizona-style chili.

I have no clue but I finally made this yesterday. What a challenge. I finally found the anaheim peppers and ordered ancho powder from myspicesage. Yesterday as I'm making it I realize I need guajillo powder. How have I been looking for the wrong thing for two weeks??? Good news is that I went crazy on my order and also "accidentally" ordered what i need. However, there was no liquid and didn't look like I was supposed to add any until much later if needed but I went to her personal recipe and realized that AR omitted 1.5 qts of water from the ingredients. I need to email them.

Lots of peppers going on in that chili.

I only had four hours so I think I"m going to let some of it simmer to break down the beans as it says but I don't see this being my new favorite. I can't believe I'd ever say that something didn't have enough meat, but it didn't...or tomato, for my taste anyway.

Looks great, Mike. I've never made onion gravy, but I imagine with Vidalias it's very good.

Hmmm, maybe I'll copy Mike tonight. . . seeing that I won't copy him on making fruit cake. :)

Elle, I like to layer the onion flavor. I'll use a tbs of dried minced onion, one-half diced and browned yellow spanish onion and one-half fresh yellow spanish onion. I dice instead of slice into rings. Of course, Deb C will find something wrong with it just to irritate me.

Lol, Mike. Wouldn't have thought of varying the type of onion. Good idea. I have a lot of onions in the yard (the people before us were gardeners; I'm a gardener wanna-be). Don't know what kind they are, but I was thinking I'd like to dry some for the dried onion soup mix. I'll take a few to work this spring and see if someone can tell me what kind they are. I felt guilty last fall not getting them thinned, but just didn't make the time.

Interesting. I never would have thought to put pair dried cherries with chickpeas and cucumbers. I've only made the hot dogs once, but we enjoyed them.

Ahhh, the infamous "thingy". My weird son will not eat hotdogs but he loves the corn dogs at school(not the mini ones, mind you, only the "giant" ones). I wonder if he'd eat these?

I've been trying different things to get my kids to eat veggies and healthier foods- and the hot dogs- well, they hate corn flakes plain and I have alot to use! lol

Been there, done that. I don't buy corn flakes or rice krispies anymore because I always have a ton leftover. Then I have to make rice krispie treats....or cookies :)

Veggie Corn Dogs

What could be easier? Refrigerated biscuit dough wrapped around vegetarian hot dogs and baked! For an 'authentic' corn dog, insert a wooden craft stick in each hot dog before wrapping with the biscuit and use cornbread.

Maybe he'd like these, though I'm sure I'm the only one that would prefer the veggie dog. I keep saying I'm going to try this but I wanted to make my own corn biscuits and don't have a clue how to make it work for this. Probably best if I don't figure it out :)

Good Morning, Lisa! OMGoodness, made French Toast Casserole for dinner last night (recipe can be found at Taste Of Home). Soooo easy~ made a batch and a half, it's nearly gone. Used to make french toasdt when kids were young, kinda got away from it after they left home. Will definitely be making again. Used 13x9x2 baking pan ~ worked like a charm!! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

Considering they used to own AR(or the same company owned both, whatever), I don't think it's a secret that we all got attached to their recipes. Actually, I used to get TOH mags for years & most of my TOH favs are from those years before my AR life.
