Perfect Cherry Pie

Submitted by: USA WEEKEND columnist Pam Anderson
Cherry pie is just about the easiest fruit pie to make. Sour cherries -- the kind you need for pie -- are rarely available fresh or frozen, so the canned variety usually is the only option for most cooks. Not only do canned cherries make good pies, but there's also no peeling, coring, seeding, pitting or slicing the fruit. Just drain, dump, sweeten, flavor and thicken, and you're in business.

Good morning all! Rethinking chicken for dinner and a bag of frozen cherries was hiding! Gonna do something with them today to make some more room in the freezer. Happy Tuesday, only 14 days til Christmas!

Oh good - I was just thinking I should start searching for something more in line with the season. I'll stick with a pie, it does sound good. I'll brew a pot of coffee and make sure there is enough ice cream, come on over!

I can relate. My daughter used to go balistic every time she had to go to the doctors for fear of a shot. Come on by afterwards for a glass of wine. :)

Feta Cheese and Roasted Red Pepper Soup

Submitted by: GEORGE TUCKER
Roasted red peppers are featured in this intriguing pureed soup with onion, celery, red wine and mint. This is a very hearty soup, I recommend serving 6 to 8 ounces as an appetizer. Very good garnished with crispy bacon bits and mint.

I have eaten way too many pizzelle scraps the last couple of days. I will be roasting peppers this morning and making soup.

Good morning! The search function isn't working well for me. But along with whatever I cook I'll have some of this. Making it to take with us Saturday when we go to my stepdaughter's. And a little caramel corn, too. I work the next three days, so it's today or never!

Wow, talk about sleeping in! I seem to be doing that more and more lately, but mind you, I'm not complaining! I took some chicken out of the freezer last night, so I might do this. Have a nice day everyone!

I haven't been able to take a decent indoor picture since I went to a digital camera. Poor DD doesn't have a good, sharp pic of herself indoors since 5th grade. So good to see that SOMEONE has figured them out and can take a decent picture with one. Just bought myself a new one, a Sony point-and-shoot. Am hoping for a faster shutter speed, maybe some good indoor pictures.
