Rump roast is cooked with Italian salad dressing mix and seasonings until it is tender enough to shred with a fork.

Good Morning! I'm just about to put this together, but I think I should brown the meat first. Any thoughts?
Nov. 18, 2012 5:06 am
I don't when I make something like this. I'm not sure it makes a difference because I haven't ever browned it first. When the meat gets shredded, does it make a difference?
Nov. 18, 2012 5:07 am
I've never browned it either so I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not?!
Nov. 18, 2012 5:12 am
Thanks ladies! You just saved me a little bit of time and I have a ton to do today! OK, I'm going to throw it in there without browning it first. Thanks again and have a good day!

Have a great day, Belle!

Hey Belle, I never brown slow cooker meat, always turns out great. I have this one saved and plan on making it, so will look for your review.

Good morning. Life seems to not be going as planned lately (what's new). So tonight my husband will be making the chicken wing pizza I mentioned here a few days ago. Then tomorrow will probably make lasagna and "garlic bread on crack" from my recipe box. Wednesday not sure yet.

Ha! Glad I'm not the only one! I'm actually making the appy's today that I've been planning for 3 days now. The kids wanted to have a movie night lastnight & there was NO WAY I was letting them eat wings in the living room. :)

In this recipe, a variety of fresh vegetables are cooked in chicken broth and combined with a creamy cheddar cheese mixture which is seasoned with chopped parsley and ground black pepper.

Good morning buzz peeps, I'm back from camping and ready to get ready for Thanksgiving. So I'm in a day by day plan here. I have everything for this chowder, kind of cool again down here in Florida.

This classic recipe has proved itself time and time again. Strips of chuck roast simmered with green onions and mushrooms, then flavored with mustard and a good Rhine wine. Serve over steamed rice or noodles.

Good morning Lisa and fellow peeps! Heading to the store today, that should be a hoot! Somthing on the grill tonight, I'll leave that up to hubs! He likes to lurk in the meat department! Here's what I have leading up to Thanksgiving. Have a great week everyone!

You're a brave woman. Lol.

Brave or nuts? I cringe sending DH to the store. He always buys the most expensive meats and at LEAST one item not on the list!
Nov. 18, 2012 5:56 am
LOL, he comes with me, and I send him to the meat deparment and have him pick out bacon, grab his cereal, I'm 3/4 of the way done by the time he completes those "tasks". There is a method to my madness!!!!

Ha ha, your husband sounds like mine, I give him a few things and I get all the rest of the shopping done before I see him again. He also loves the meat dept.

There's still a bit of caveman left in all of them! Mine loves the meat dept too. Especially the hams!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

This is an easy way to make extra stuffing for a large crowd, saving stove space because it cooks in a slow cooker. Very tasty and moist!

I am mostly working on Thanksgiving day dinner. DH will be grilling our turkey and so I have to do the stuffing outside the bird. I've made it in the crock before but this recipe sounds a bit better. My family can be picky if you go too far beyond the normal bread and celery stuffing.

Wake up your mashed potatoes with Cheddar cheese, sour cream, chives, and a topping of fried onions and bacon. It's like a stuffed potato in a casserole dish!

I want to do most the baking ahead so I can just enjoy my company and not be stuck in the kitchen all day. I'll make this the day before. Prob tweak it some.

This is a bit unorthodox, but the end result is moist, flavorful and amazing. All you'll need is some chicken, butter, beer, and seasonings.
